EMPOWERING
The purpose of the site is to empower Latinas or any women who wants to have an extra pep in her step, swagger while she walks and smile on her face. As you navigate through the Latina Living site you will find empowerment projects that are in the works, wonderful women who are making a difference in their communities and contact information.
EDUCATING
Empowering and education go hand in hand. You absolutely cannot have one without the other. This site will not only give you some inspiration but hopefully educate you on several topics, from current events to issues that we need to be informed on, I hope you'll find some information here that will help you form your own opinions and be educated!
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Ashley Flores was born in Alice, Texas and was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated from Alice High School in May 2005 and started her collegiate career at Texas State University the following fall. Since her freshman year, Ashley has been involved in several organizations and has held numerous leadership positions. When she has time she works on her personal web site and her TV show websites. She is presently coordinating a Latina empowerment reception for Texas State freshman and San Marcos High freshman that will be held this October, check out the F2F page. Ashley is a mass communication major and media studies minor. Last fall she had the rare opportunity to intern with NBC Universal in New York. While there she worked on Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Today Show and Peacock Productions. Ashley will be graduating December 2009, after graduation she plans to teach high school english and attend grad school at Texas State.
